2021 Gala of Stars

  • A dazzling constellation of local stars danced to build in the seventh annual Gala of Stars: Dancing for the Cause. Raise the Roof defines stars as community leaders passionate about making the world a better place. This year’s stars accepted the invitation to take to the dance floor for the fun and goodness of gathering funds and friends to help families build homes. Raise the Roof, Arthur Murray Guilford, and the dancing community leaders created a must-watch, must-celebrate, online event that took place on Friday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m. All wereinvited to watch, cheer, and “vote” for one, some, or all the dance couples. The celebration honored families that build their own homes, the volunteers who work alongside to help, those who share to make building possible, and this year’s stars who said ‘yes’ to the dance!

  • The stars learned choreographed ballroom routines during ten private lessons provided by Arthur Murray Guilford, Raise the Roof’s Event Partner. There were watch parties, dancing stars, judges and awards for best dance performances, and the culminating announcement of the 2021 Shoreline Stars as voted on by the public. The stars competed for “votes” (dollars = votes) and their dancing raised funds for future Raise the Roof sponsored Habitat houses,helping families build and own homes.
